Highly Secure 2 Step Verification in Gmail

Posted by Saboor Adem Wednesday, March 9, 2011 0 comments

Good News for all the Gmail users. Google has launched the 2-step verification....!!!Most of us are used to entrusting our information to a password, but we know that some of you are looking for something stronger. As google announced to its Google Apps customers a few months ago, they have developed an advanced security feature called 2-step verification that makes your Google Account significantly more secure by helping to verify that you're the real owner of your account.

2-step verification requires two independent factors for authentication, much like you might see on your banking website: your password, plus a code obtained using your phone. you can see a new link on your Account Settings page that looks like this:

just click on "Using 2-step verification" and follow as it says to do....After setting up the 2-step verification whenever you try to log in with your user id and password then google will send you a code into your phone's(the phone number you submitted at the time of setting up the 2-step verification) inbox . Just put that code into the box showing on your computer screen(this screen will show after you submit your user id and password on the login page). Now you will get access to your mail.
Its called 2-step verification as it firstly takes your password then send a code on your phone and asks to enter that code there. after doing this you can only access your mail.
